“While at a friend’s apartment when in college, he and I borrowed his roommates’ mountain bikes and went for a ride on a short trail in the woods. I was impressed with how the tires would roll over almost anything and there was a gear for all elevation changes. A few months later, I purchased the used specialized hard rock that I had previously ridden and fell in love with the sport in no time. Twenty some years later, I still love to ride and have been through about 4 different mountain bikes and now enjoy hitting jumps and other features free-ride style as well as riding cross-country.”

“As a lifetime swimmer and 7 year triathlete, I’ve always loved the challenge that endurance sports have to offer.  Four years ago,Erin Tyler I was introduced to mountain biking  and it has opened a whole new world of challenges and friends.  EVMA was so welcoming to me and made me feel like I was part of the crowd right off the bat, even if I didn’t know what I was doing yet. While i prefer having a lift carry me back up to the top of the mountain like at snowshoe, or  getting frequent flyer miles riding the drops and jumps, I am just as happy to get out and peddle as many miles as possible. I’m always pushing my limits to drop farther, head downhill faster, and get uphill stronger.”

“Introduced to mountain biking in1994. Enjoy riding on the road, helps to build strength and endurance for the mountain bike. Have raced a bit (Sport women, solo and team endurance events). Love a technical and swoopy trail. Climbing only gets me to a great downhill-which keeps me climbing.”
