October 29th weekly update

Hello EVMA!

This coming Saturday is our November club meeting at Freedom Park. In lieu of a group ride, trail maintenance will start at 9am, lunch at noon, meeting at 12:30. A-loop needs some work on a couple of berms which will require moving pavers and dirt. Any volunteers that don’t mind bringing a wheel barrow and shovel would be appreciated. Also, D-loop’s back section needs some trimming. Keep in mind there is a chance of rain this Saturday. If it is downpouring, maintenance will probably be postponed for a later date. If it’s just a light rain, we will still do maintenance (and the club meeting will happen rain or shine).

Keep in mind clocks get turned back Sunday morning, so everyone should be well rested for Sunday’s group ride at York River State Park at 9am.

All night rides have been approved starting next week, November 4th. Tuesday’s will be at Harwood, Wednesday’s at New Quarter, and Thursday’s at freedom. All rides will be 6-8pm. There are several rules that need to be followed. No one can ride alone, and you must have at least 1 light on the front of the bike or bike helmet. At Harwood mills, you need to get a parking pass from the EVMA ride leader to avoid getting a ticket (parking lot is officially closed after dark).

Volunteers are needed for a nominating committee for elections in March. If you are interested in being part of the committee, please try to attend Saturday’s meeting.

Hope to see many of you on Saturday!
