Trails
Harwood Mill - The reroutes on Trail B are mostly complete. The trail is back to being one
way. Mike Gross is still working on signage. As the trail packs in, some trimming or trail work
may be necessary. Mike continues to work with Newport News Parks to plan on a connector
from B to C.
Freedom Park – New feature on C loop is complete. May 14th Single Track Maniac – Trail A closed until 10am, Trails D and E closed all day. Early AM ride to clear trail for runners.
New Quarter – Meeting with Parks director went well. Plans to replace mile markers with carsonite signs, mark Emergency exits and TTFs. Molly would like to have raised trail removed. The park is not manned during the week and YC feels the liability is too great. Plans for removal are being made. The park can have help with removal. The county can assist with removal. If Freedom is closed, please do not ride New Quarter, it will be just as wet.
Wahrani – April 9th workday to replace bridges in the low section on A loop. Mike Benton is working on bridges. Also, working on climb from the long skinny bridge.
York River SP – Marl Ravine is returned to normal direction. Response was positive on reversal. April 16th Kirk and FOYRSP are continuing work on pump track. Outer loop is coming along.
Indian River – Chesapeake holds monthly parks meeting. Next is April 7th. Several members planning on attending. They sent a new volunteer agreement and volunteer waiver.
Upper Co – Closed.

April 24th 9am Group Ride at New Quarter, Cookout at noon, Cheer kids race at 130. Kirk volunteered to cook, we need a few people to bring some side dishes.
April 28th – May 1st – Raystown trip. Registration is open. $35 tent/ $50 camper.
May 7th 9am Freedom Park - Group Ride/Meeting May 8th 9am Group ride – York River State Park
May 14th – Single Track Maniac Trail Run – Trail A will be closed until about 10:30 and Trails D and E will be closed most of the day. Group will ride early to clear the trails. First, Trail A backwards then D and E.
May 21st Group ride – Freedom Park May 22nd 9am Group ride New Quarter
May 27th – 29th – Stokesville Trail Fest – Many members are going.
June 4th - 9am – Freedom Park - Group ride/Meeting June 5th Group Ride New Quarter
