EVENTS COMING UP

Dec 7 – Group ride at 10 am at Freedom Park followed by lunch and club meeting at noon in the Interpretive Center.  Please join us to discuss needed trail work, the upcoming solstice ride, and look at sample T-shirts for an upcoming order.   If trails are closed at Freedom and it’s not raining, ride will be held at York River State Park.

Dec 14 – Trail work at Freedom Park starting at 9:00 am.  Come out and help get the trails in order while the weather is cooler.  Bring your bike and ride afterward.

Dec 21 – Winter Solstice ride and social – Come celebrate the shortest day of the year with a ride at Freedom Park at 5-6:30 pm followed by a potluck at the Interpretive Center.  Not riding, show up anyway (around 6 pm).  Penny is looking for some volunteers to help with this event.

Dec 28 – Planned trail work at Wahrani.  More information coming soon.

Night rides Night rides are happening at Harwood’s Mill on Tuesdays, New Quarter Park on Wednesdays and Freedom Park on Thursdays.    Rides begin at 6 pm and we have to be out of the parks by 8 pm.  Every rider should have 2 lights, and no one should be riding alone.  Rides will be canceled if there are not at least 2 riders.  Thank you to everyone who stepped up to be ride leaders.

OTHER NOTES

Thank you – A big thanks to everyone who came out to help with trail work at New Quarter Park!

Volunteer Position Open – A new year is right around the corner.  If your resolution includes more volunteer work, consider EVMA.  The VP of trails works with the trail captains and other members to decide where work is needed, how to use trail funds, and schedule needed work.  If you are interested or would like more information, please contact Mike Benton.
