OUR RIDE LEADER FOR THIS RIDE IS SICK (isn't everybody!).  So no Group Ride, but feel free to ride on your own on Sunday, Jan 14 at Harwoods Mill.  ***We expect lost of debris on the trail after last night's rain and wind and today's wind.  Please clear off any small debris, and notify evmamembership@gmail.com with the location of any large downed trees.  Thanks!

This was supposed to be the regular second Sunday of the month ride led by Bob Branch, at a friendly pace, suitable for more casual riders.  Thanks, Bob!

***This regular ride is always weather-dependent, so if the weather looks at all questionable, check back here before you head out.

An anonymous EVMA generously pledged to match any donations made to the EVMA through 12/27/23 (up to $1,000.00 total).  Between 12/19/23 & 01/01/24 we received $3,690 in donations (including the $1,000 match).  Thanks to all who donated.  $ will go to the EVMA Trail Maintenance fund to build/maintain/improve our local trails.

We get lots of new EVMA members but many miss the annual renewal e-mails (spam folder, too many e-mails, etc.) and their membership lapses.  Download the "Wild Apricot for Members" app from the Apple App Store or Google Play to get renewal reminders on your phone and never miss a renewal again!  It's free and you can renew and pay right from your phone.

Sat, Dec 16 group ride at Pocahontas State Park, Swift Creek trails, 10:00 AM.  Meet in the big parking lot just uphill from the pool, next to the restrooms.  ***Parking fee or annual pass is required.

*This group ride was requested by an EVMA member who has not ridden Poca yet but wants to ride there with people who know it.  This is exactly what we want for members suggesting group rides!  Please don't be shy about suggesting group rides like this!

This is our regular 1st Saturday of the month group ride at Freedom Park.  Meet in the main parking lot for a 10:00 AM start time. 

This is a no-drop pace (we won't leave you behind if you're slow), so if there is a wide speed discrepancy we might break into 2 groups.

Here's something new and different!  Leake's Mill in Goochland is an XC style, mostly rake-and-ride style trail west of Richmond.  It has a cool natural half-pipe, some rooty sections, some fast sections, some short but steep off-camber hills, etc.  It's fun!  Restrooms on site.

Meet our guy Steven at 10:00 AM for a guided tour.  Look for the red Tesla in the parking lot.  Check out Trail Forks for trailhead location.

Group Ride: Saturday, Nov 18, Wahrani Nature Trail, 9:45 AM.  This is a group ride put on by Riverside Cycling in Richmond (https://www.riversidecyclingrva.com/).  Let’s crash their party (in a friendly way, of course).  Riverside Cycles wants riders to sign up here so they get an idea of how many people to expect:  https://facebook.com/events/s/riverside-weekend-shop-ride-at/3651006481847478/.

Here's something different!  Join us on Sunday, Nov 5 at 10:00 AM to ride MASSANUTTEN'S WESTERN SLOPE TRAILS.  Some important info:

1. THIS RIDE IS NOT FOR BEGINNERS.  You should be at least a solid intermediate rider who can do several serious climbs, descend, and ride over lots of rocks (a massage for your bike!). There is not shuttle service on Nov 5.

2. Requires a waiver and an annual pass or day pass which you can purchase here: https://svbcoalition.org/western-slope-trails/

3. Meet at 10:00 AM sharp in the parking lot at 4360 Happy Valley Rd., Keezletown, VA. 

4. The weather looks somewhere between excellent and ideal.

Meet by 9:00 AM at the big parking lot near the pool and restroom building. We're starting early to beat the heat and possible afternoon rain/storms.  Ride leader - EVMA VP Marlie Smith.  We plan to ride the Swift Creek trails.

CANCELLED DUE TO RAIN: Sunday, July 9, Harwoods Mill, 10:00 AM wheels rolling.  This one will be a recurring monthly ride at H.M. on the 2nd Sunday each month.
