EVENTS COMING UP

Saturday, June 1^st – Group ride at Freedom Park starting at 9am (alternate location is York River State Park if trails are closed at Freedom).  No meeting or lunch is planned afterward but get on EVMA Chatter and plan a visit to a local brewery or restaurant with other club members.

Sept. 20-22 – Tentative dates for fall Douthat trip.

OTHER NOTES

Weekends on your Wheels – The popular youth bike races are going on now.   Races are scheduled for  June 9^th, June 23^rd, July 14^th and July 21^st.  Races are at the kid’s bike trail at New Quarter Park starting at 1:30 pm.  Races are open to all children ages 3 to 17, helmets are required, and no training wheels please.  Bring out your kids or grandkids!  https://recreation.yorkcounty.gov/wbwsc/webtrac.wsc/splash.html

Photos Needed – The Newport News Department of Tourism is updating their website’s MTB Trails page and is requesting pictures of riders on Harwood’s Mill and Lake Maury trails. Please send any you have to mgrossdvm@mindspring.com.

Need a new bike? – Visit Freedom Park on June 23^rd between 10am and 1pm for a Trek Demo.

Volunteer Needed – EVMA is seeking a new VP of trails.  Duties include collecting information from trail leaders and reporting to the group.  Please contact Mike Benton if you are interested.
