EVENTS COMING UP

Sept. 28 – Trail work at York River State Park starting at 9 am.  We will work on Black Bear and Bob Cat trails and do some work on the pump track. Meet at the maintenance shed.   This is a great way to spend National Public Lands Day.  Lunch may be provided by Friends of YRSP.  Bring your bike and ride afterward.

Note:  There is a foot race scheduled in the park that morning so please be prepared to share the park.  Marl Ravine trail will be closed from 7am to 10:30 that morning.

Sept. 29 – Conte’s Bike Shop in Williamsburg is hosting the Williamsburg 100 – a ride that takes advantage of many of our trails including New Quarter, Freedom and York River State Park.  Get more information at https://www.contebikes.com/about/southern-virginia-events-pg344.htm

October 5 – Group ride at New Quarter Park at 9 am.  We do need someone to step up and be the ride leader for this ride.  No meeting this week.

October 12 – Trail work followed by club meeting.  Details coming soon.

OTHER NOTES

Night rides – Coming soon . . . Night rides.  We are working on getting permission from the parks for night rides starting in November.  We need ride leaders!!!!  Without a ride leader, we cannot have the ride.  We are currently looking at Harwoods, Lake Maury, New Quarter and Freedom.  Please respond to this email.

Trail work – Cooler weather means it’s trail work season.  There is a lot of work to do throughout all of our parks.  We plan to schedule trail work on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays each month.  Please mark your calendar and plan to help out.  We will continue to have group rides on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays, and hopefully get some Sunday rides scheduled as well.
