*The state park charges an entrance fee.
Saturday, July 8, Wahrani, 9:00 AM wheels rolling.
CANCELLED DUE TO RAIN: Sunday, July 9, Harwoods Mill, 10:00 AM wheels rolling. This one will be a recurring monthly ride at H.M. on the 2nd Sunday each month.
This is our regular 1st Saturday of the month ride at Freedom Park. This ride will be a friendly pace, not a race.
Please arrive BEFORE 9:00 AM and meet ride leader & EVMA President Mike Benton in the main parking lot near the big white park building.
Group ride & lunch at New Quarter Park, June 17 (We finally settled on a date!) After several date changes, the new date is Saturday, June 17, 10:00 ride and noon lunch. This ride and lunch is sponsored by the Trek Store in Williamsburg, who approached the EVMA about hosting. (This is not an endorsement by the EVMA of any bike shop – we love them all! – but why would we turn down this offer?) In addition to riding and lunch, the Trek Store may have coupons and giveaways. Feel free to bring a side dish or dessert to share but no need to bring anything.
Start early before possible afternoon rain (17% to 55% chance?) High temp around 65-71o. Meet in the big parking lot by the pool and restrooms NO LATER THAN 9:30 AM. Look for a silver Tacoma. Parking fee required at entrance station.
We’ll try to do a group ride at Freedom the first Saturday of every month.
Harwood's riders - we are having a working party this Saturday, 13 May from 9 AM - 1 PM to spread gravel along a few areas that are turning into mudholes. Please bring a steel rake, shovel, and wheelbarrow if you have them. Thanks!
Meet in the main parking lot near the white park building. Thanks to Dale Ashcom for leading this ride. Look for him riding around on a shiny new Yeti. Despite the sweet new bike, this should be a “friendly” pace, not a race. This is the first of our new, regular, first-Saturday-of-the-month rides at Freedom Park. We’ll rotate ride leaders and are looking for members willing to lead one in the future. (You can choose which trails and set the pace.) This is a great opportunity to learn these trails if you’re new to them, or if you just want somebody to ride with. Bring your friends (and get them to join the EVMA).
